VASSA is a not-for-profit organization comprised of all volunteers, many of whom also are involved with other silent sport groups or work fulltime for others or at their own business. But all of them believe in VASSA's mission of acting in the public interest to promote and develop silent sport, non-motorized trails and recreation in Vilas County, WI and the surrounding areas of Wisconsin.
Assisting Area Trail Groups
Facilitating communication between new and established trail groups, the community, and silent sports enthusiasts. One of our current projects is the countywide bike/ped route and trail plan.
Advising New & Potential Trail Builders
Helping trail groups and trail projects go from dream to reality through sharing of knowledge
and resources.
Informing the Trail Community
Spreading the word about the benefits of enjoying silent sports and the growing number of opportunities to enjoy silent sports in the Vilas area.
Advocating a Positive Vision
Creating a vision of a sustainable and prosperous future for the Vilas area through the development and growth of silent sport recreation.
